Lead Safe Remodeling

EPA Lead Safe Remodeling Training Certification

The Lead Safe Remodeling or known as EPA’s Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program is a federal regulatory platform that strikes property managers, contractors, and for those individuals who work may disturb lead-base painted surfaces. The EPAs RRP program enforces everyone that conduct renovation, remodeling, or paint removal actions on residential houses, child-occupied facilities and apartments, such as day care centers, schools and houses built before 1978. The RRP includes pre-renovation educational activity as well as certification, training, and work practice essentials.

Lead Safe Remodeling training, certification, and work practice

The EPA lead training, certification, and work practice requirements became effective April 22, 2010. Business firms are asked to be certified, their workers must be trained in the practice of lead-safe remodeling practices, and lead-safe work practices that understate occupants’ exposure to lead risks must be adopted. Firms’ workers must acquire an EPA approved 8 hour training course in order to get certification and turn to a “certified renovator”.

Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island will act on tips and complaints from the public concerning violations of laws that call for people to be informed of expected Lead-Based Paint risks when they rent, buy, or hire contractors to remodel a dwelling or child-occupied facility. Exposure to lead-based paint is a dangerous health concern, particularly for young children.
