EPA RRP NY
New York, NY – Does your company need the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Training?
Lead Safe Certified is among the few certified training providers in the State of New York with an approved and dynamic RRP program in place!
Lead Safe Certified RRP training course focus on operations for minimizing soil contamination and lead dust generation during remodeling/ renovation/ maintenance activities as defined by the federal agency and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). If these EPA RRP procedures are correctly carried out, the risk of lead exposure to residents, employees, children and families of employees can be minimized.
How Does The New EPA’s RRP Rule Affect You?
In April 2008 the EPA brought out a rule that will have a substantial touch on the remodeling industry. The EPA’s RRP Rule will alter how contractors approach working on constructions built prior to 1978.
Certified Firm and Renovator Responsibilities:
The RRP has a particular set of responsibilities that all U.S. companies must abide for their projects that come under the RRP. Beyond keeping up the certification with the EPA, firms must have someone prepared as a ‘certified renovator’, dish out the Renovate Right pamphlet, and go along all records of RRP projects for 3 years. Certified renovators must serve an 8-hour training course, supervise dust containment set-up, post required signage, supervise project clean-up and affirm the renovation project is cleaned according to these new EPA’s RRP standards. Also, certified renovators train other workers to use practices keyed out in the standard for these renovation projects.
