Who Is Required to Have EPA Lead Renovator Certification Training?

This EPA’s Renovation, Repair, or Painting (RRP) Certified Renovator Training is required for work on projects involving RRP in residential or child-occupied facilities (children under age six) constructed prior to 1978 and in which lead-based paint exists. The Federal Lead Paint Safety rules articulated that there must be a Certified Lead Renovator supervising the project.

Any businesses that execute renovations and lead-based paint activities must become EPA-certified as Lead Renovation Firms. Business firms needing this EPA’s RRP certification must submit the EPA application and pay a license fee to federal agency. The application and instruction packet for turning a certified Lead Renovation Firm are available at EPA Lead-Safe Certification Program quoted, Renovation Firm.
