EPA Lead Certification Training Course – Lead Safety Classes

EPA RRP Lead Rule is in full effect.

EPA Training or Lead Paint Certification Training for Certified Renovator – Named 40 CFR Part 745, this law makes it necessary that remodeling carried out for compensation on pre-1978 houses, needs to be performed by EPA Certified Firms working with Certified Renovators. This consists of contractors together with landlords and property supervisors. The EPA declares that if you’re caught doing work illegally they are able to fine you and possibly enforce time in jail.

The penalties for noncompliance are approximately $32,500 per violation.
The task that confronts the residential construction companies are currently there are actually only somewhere around 100+ certified firms that are authorized to train. The demand is going to be so intense that it’ll be not possible to train the predicted 200,000 firms. The EPA training requirements stipulate that the proportion for teacher to student is one to six. Some lead paint certification trainers is going to be allowed slightly greater ratios. This limit will reduce the quantity of seats available for EPA lead paint certification training.

Course Description:

The traditional renovation work you do now can create significant lead-dust hazards if lead-based paint is present and disturbed. • The leaded dust generated by traditional renovation work can cause lead poisoning in children. It can also poison pregnant women, yourself, your children, other workers and even pets. Practical changes in work practices can minimize and contain dust. The use of lead-safe work practices makes the job safer and reduces your liability exposure. • EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Final Rule (40 CFR 745) requires that renovations conducted for compensation, must be performed by Certified Firms using Certified Renovators. Renovation firms that wish to work in pre-1978 homes and child-occupied facilities must apply to EPA and pay a fee in order to become certified. Renovators seeking to become Certified Renovators must successfully complete an EPA-accredited renovator course. This course is the EPA model course for Certified Renovators and as such meets all requirements in 40 CFR 745.90. • This course will teach you how to comply with the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule and the HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule, and how to perform lead-safe work practices safely and effectively.

Why EPA RRP Certified Renovators Training is Important?

Constant contact with lead will cause serious trouble for the nervous system, reproductive systems in adults and kidneys as well as children. Developing children particularly younger than 6, can be forever affected by lead exposure, as it leads to severe physical and mental developmental difficulties.

Significantly like Asbestos and second-hand fumes, lead dust is a menacing contaminant that is not conveniently recognized nor easily eradicated from the body by typical processes. Granted that lead dust is easily transportable and can easily contaminate air flow systems, vehicles and worker’s clothing, the danger for distributing contamination outside of the work-site is substantial. When we take into account the potential threats generated by lead abate processes, the EPA’s contractor rules for lead abatement safety, containment and safety supply are significant and necessary to both the health of property owners as well as lead abatement workers, their colleagues and their own families.

The Lead Removal Training and Certification Rule

On August 29, 1996, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published a final rule for the training and certification of lead paint professionals (61 FR 45778). At that time, the execution of EPA Training for Lead Removal program was delayed until August 29 of 1998, to permit states to enforce for and obtain authority to break away their own EPA-approved lead paint programs based on the framework program that federal agency rendered. After the EPA program became in effect in non-authorized states on August 29, 1998, the federal final rule also furnished for an extra phase-in period for the requirements for training program accreditation, firm and individual certification, and function practice standards.

Later on March 1, 1999, EPA Training for Lead Removal programs could no longer provide, claim, or offer to render training or refresher training for lead paint actions outlined at section 745.223 without being recognized by EPA allotting to the prerequisites of section 745.225. The EPA rule also expressed that after August 30, 1999, no firms or individuals could execute, claim, or offer to perform lead paint activities as specified at section 745.223 without EPA certification under section 745.226 to carry on those activities.
