EPA Lead Certified: Lead Safe Certified

If you perform repairs and maintenance with lead based paint in housing built before 1978, then you must be trained in ‘Lead Safe Work Practices.” Upon successful completion of this one day course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion. The certificate will state, that you are trained in lead-safe work practices. It will also meet the requirements of the HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule for interim control of lead point hazards. This training course presents procedures for minimizing lead dust generation and soil contamination, during maintenance and remodeling stages. These remodeling activities are defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). If these procedures are correctly implemented, the risk of lead  exposure to employees and children can be minimized.

Lead Safe Certified Consulting provides our contractor customers the specified EPA Lead Certified Training at an affordable price and at a more convenient location. EPA’s Lead Certified Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program regulations require necessary EPA Lead Certified Safety Training for all compensated contractors. This regulation is enforced housing built before 1978, including:

  • Maintenance laborers in leasing properties and family homes
  • Remodeling and renovating contractors
  • Painters as well as other specialty trades

The US EPA requirements apply to repair, window replacements, interim control, renovation, and painting activities.
